Graphics/GPU Software Engineer

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.
We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
For this position we are looking for candidates who are critical thinkers, self motivated and have a flair for finding creative ways of solving hard problems. Experience working in a cross-discipline team is a plus and candidates who can demonstrate an ability to iterate rapidly on design ideas, take feedback and act on it quickly will be at an advantage.
Gaming experience is not a requirement but we are looking for motivated and driven individuals to help us in a number of areas. If you have experience in user experience, graphics (esp. Vulkan), GPU measurement and debugging tools, infrastructure creation and management then please apply.

- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of relevant work experience in software development.
- Programming experience in C and/or C++.
- Experience working with Graphics pipelines e.g. OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan.
- Experience working with GPU-based tools (eg DirectX compute shaders, OpenCL).
- Experience in game development, and knowledge of graphics programming.
- Background in Computer Science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
